Growth and expansion of HPP in the food, beverage and other industries
Dr Errol Raghubeer is a globally recognised High Pressure Processing expert with over 35 years of experience in food safety, product development and regulatory science. He played a key role in validating HPP for microbial safety, shelf-life extension and quality preservation, contributing to its regulatory acceptance by the FDA, USDA and Health Canada. His work at JBT Marel (Avure) spans product innovation, microbial validation and regulatory strategy for food and pharmaceutical applications. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Fisheries and Food Technology, an M.S. in Food Science, and a Ph.D. in Microbiology/Food Safety from the University of Washington.

Built to Withstand: What Bottles, Jars and Closures Need to Survive HPP
Chris Baker has spent nearly 30 years immersed in packaging, with a specialist focus on bottles and jars. Since 2018, he has supported projects developing packaging for HPP treatment, predominantly for juices, alongside trials for other beverages and sauces. His session will cover the structural and material requirements of the container itself and the equally critical role of the closure in maintaining a reliable seal throughout the pressure cycle.
